Furnished room (cbl) in a private home in Igny (near Massy). Special conditions apply.

For a tenant who is away on weekends or every other week (for example, a student on a work-study program with proof of another residence). A furnished single room, highly valued for its tranquility, is available in a house. Access to the common areas—a 20m² kitchen/dining/TV/laundry room (large 7-shelf refrigerator and small freezer, induction cooktop, microwave), bathroom/toilet (newly renovated), and a second toilet/sink—is via Wi-Fi or powerline adapter. The room was renovated in 20...16, and the bathroom was repainted in 2022. Two of the six tenants are away three days a week. This is an individual contract with no joint liability clause. Tenant liability insurance for this room is legally required upon your arrival. You will also be required to present an identity card or other document proving your right to reside in France. You are independent, but I simply ask that you refrain from slamming doors, respect the other tenants (do not take items from other tenants' storage areas, maintain cleanliness, etc.), empty the kitchen bins, and take out (and then bring back in) the tenants' bins on collection days. Avoid drying laundry in the bedroom (risk of mold). A service fee of €40 (cleaning of the tenants' "common" areas by a housekeeper, cleaning products, sponges, bin bags, and technical maintenance) is payable separately in addition to the rent and utilities. I provide: sheets, duvet, pillow, towel, bath mat, dish towels, dishes and kitchen utensils, dish soap, sponges, bin bags, laundry detergent, and cleaning product. All taxes are included (except for the service fee for the housekeeper and repairs). Given the sharp increases in energy prices, a possible increase in utility costs of €5 every 2 to 3 months should be expected (only if necessary). The house is heated to 18°C in the mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and between 15 and 18°C the rest of the time. No smoking and no pets allowed. Security deposit: €500 (this can be a check, which I do not endorse). Accessible by public transport (Igny RER C station 900m away, bus stop 20m away, lines 15, 119, 1, and 294): - 15 minutes to Massy train station and high schools (train or bus). - In 30 minutes: Polytechnique, ENSTA, Orsay campus, HEC, Pharmacy (Châtenay-Malabry), CEA, Vélizy 2, Versailles... - In 40 minutes: Ecole Centrale/Supelec, Synchrotron Soleil, Sup-optic, IUT Orsay, Versailles (Gare des Chantiers), Bouygues (Vélizy), PSA... - In 60 minutes: central Paris (RER B from Châtelet-Les Halles).
